PURPOSE: To provide a three-input/three-output system control method especially suitable for controlling an electrophotographic printer without requiring the configuration of three-dimensional experiential matrix of correction values. CONSTITUTION: A paint-out area density measured value SD and a halftone density measured value HD are inputted to a program 120, and the regulation value of laser source power PL and the regulation value of a bias voltage Vbias related to a development unit are outputted. A program 140 receives two continuous light area density measured values LD and the respective measured values are allocated to plural error subsets by a fuzzy function 144. The membership of error subsets is applied to a two-dimensional look-up table 146, and the extent of joint membership of error subsets is determined. Based thereon, the correction value is provided and converted to the regulation value of a cleaning voltage Vclean by a function 148. The correction values for the Vbias and Vclean are converted into the regulation value of an initial potential Vgrid related to scolothoron. |
