PURPOSE:To perform regulation of initial torque from the outside of a rotation case. CONSTITUTION:A differential device comprises a planetary gear type differential mechanism 3; a rotary case 31 arranged to the outside of the differential mechanism 3 and coupled to a sun gear 29; an energizing member 51 to exert initial torque on a friction clutch for differential limit; and a regulating energizing means 53 joined in a screwed-in state with the side wall 33 of the rotary case 31 and regulating initial torque by changing the bending amount of the energizing force 51 by a screw thrust force. This constitution improves a yield of a product and eliminates a need for initial check, reduces a cost, and increases adaptability to a different kind of a vehicle.
