摘要 PURPOSE: To make a minimal working space of the same length as length of a low speed scanning axis by propelling a carriage regardless of an outer driving member by supporting a movable carriage means free to move along a rectilinear motion axis, specifying the rectilinear motion axis and guiding the movable carriage along the rectilinear motion axis. CONSTITUTION: A linear motion drive device 10 supports a carriage 12 free to take rectilinear motion along parallel guide rails 14, 16 by two ball circulating type supports 22 to allow the carriage 12 to move with minimum friction. This rectilinear motion works to maintain frictional contact with a friction wheel 50 with magnets 60, 62 pushed on the guide rail 16 on the opposite side by arranging a large magnet 80 between the two ball circulating type supports 22 with an interval between them of a side wall 20 of the carriage 12 and pushing it on the guide rail 14. Consequently, it is possible to realize frictional driving on a low speed scanning axis of movement and to make a minimal working space of the same length as length of the low speed scanning axis.
