摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To prevent production of edge fringes in the coating system of fatty acid metal salt on an org. photoreceptor in a reversal developing system by constituting the method to include a unit to supply a fatty acid metallic salt having specified water content on the photosensitive body and a unit to recycle a part of the supplied fatty acid metal salt to the developing unit. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic latent image is formed on an org. photoreceptor 14 and processed for reversal development with a developer. This image forming method a unit to supply a fatty acid metallic salt having 10-500ppm water content to the photoreceptor and a unit to recycle a part of the supplied fatty acid metal salt to a developing unit. To control the water content of the fatty acid metallic salt, the fatty acid metallic salt is preliminarily stored for a long time at low temp. and low humidity, or dried under reduced pressure. Since stress is once added to the fatty acid metallic salt to be recycled, the fatty acid metallic salt shows intense cleavage property. When the recycled fatty acid metallic salt is applied on the photosensitive body, an extremely uniform thin layer can be formed which suppresses reduction of the surface potential as little as possible and gives an effect to prevent edge fringes.</p>
