<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate visual luminance saturation and to realize a desirable gray scale using a simple circuit. CONSTITUTION:The multicolor LED display unit is provided with a plurality of LEDs which are arranged close to each other and emit different luminous colors and an LED lighting circuit which properly flashes each LED and thereby adjusts its luminous color and brightness. The LED lighting circuit is provided with a pulse width modulation circuit 2 which outputs luminance modulated pulses corresponding to input gray scale data and a cut-off pulse generating means 1 which generates cut-off adjusting pulses that corrects the cut-off point of each LED in a time-division manner with these pulses and an LED drive circuit 3 which lights LED's. The cut-off pulse generating means 1 is provided with a storage means 4 for the cut-off correction data of each LED and a correction pulse generating means 5 which transforms this data to cut-off adjusting pulses.</p> |
