<p>PURPOSE:To keep the lane deviation alarm function normal at night by providing an auxiliary illumination lamp which emits invisible light interlocking with lighting of the main headlight of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:The auxiliary illumination lamp 3, which is installed on a vehicle 10 so as to irradiate the road surface just in the front of the vehicle 10 photographed by a lane detecting means 1 and emits invisible light B interlocking with lighting of a main headlight 2 of the vehicle 10, is provided. Ultraviolet(UV) or infrared(IR) rays of invisible light are emitted from the front of the vehicle 10 toward the road surface as an irradiated beam B from the auxiliary illumination lamp 3. This invisible light is reflected by the lane and is given to a lane detection means 1. The lane is extracted, and unless the direction indicating operation is performed when the distance between this lane and the vehicle 10 exceeds a certain value, an alarm is given. Further, a light detection means is provided to monitor the lighting condition of the auxiliary illumination lamp 3, and if its lighting is not confirmed, it is judged that the auxiliary illumination lamp 3 is faulty, and a fault alarm is reported to the driver.</p> |
