Appts. for electroplating bulk objects placed in an immersion cylinder (1) has a mounted perforated envelope that functions with the axis of the cylinder in the horizontal position. The immersion cylinder and the objects which it contains are immersed in a treatment bath, and then withdrawn from the bath and the treated objects are air-cleaned. When the immersion cylinder is withdrawn from the bath it is surrounded, at least over its upper part, by a blowing hood (6). The blowing hood (6) comprises: a central manifold (7) for feeding the cleaning air; a device (8) for distributing this air; and a system (9) in the air feed manifold (7) and/or in the air distribution device provided to feed the cleaning air and/or steam in either a continuous or pulsed manner.
