The windscreen wiper arm (14) is mounted so as to pivot on axis Y-Y, which is provided by the drive head (12). A spring (36) acts between the drive head and the wiper arm to apply a force along a line of action (D) to produce a cleaning pressure onto the windscreen. This line of action (D) does not pass through the pivot axis, Y-Y. The distance between the line of action of the force and the pivot axis can be varied by means of a tipping adjuster (46), which is mounted so as to link from the pivot axis, Y-Y, and the spring carrier (52). The tipping adjuster is designed to pivot around an axis, Z-Z, which is parallel to the main pivot axis, Y-Y, when adjusted by means of the adjusting screw (60). |
