PURPOSE:To allow an image transmitter described by the constitution to conduct dubbing repeatedly without causing deterioration in image quality by applying thinning processing and interpolation processing to the same picture elements. CONSTITUTION:A 1-picture element thinning circuit 10 applies thinning processing to each picture element of received image data, and a compression coding circuit 11 applies compression coding to the data and the result is stored on a recording medium. Then the recorded image data are reproduced and subject to expansion decoding processing by an expansion decoding circuit 12 and a same picture element interpolation circuit 13 applies the same picture element interpolation processing to the data so as to output the same picture elements by the picture elements having been subject to thinning processing and the resulting data are outputted. |
