PURPOSE:To eliminate a need of a cutout in an optical-waveguide circuit board and to reduce the number of edges whose optical polishing operation is required in the circuit board by a method wherein two edges formed at an interval are bonded to an optical waveguide from a first optical coupler and a second optical coupler and a V-shaped optical waveguide on which a reflecting face has been formed is formed in a turned-up end part. CONSTITUTION:When a V-shaped optical waveguide 9 is adoped in a semiconductor laser amplifier 4, an optical-signal input port and an output port can be formed on the same edge of the semiconductor laser amplifier 4, and a cutout in an optical-waveguide circuit board 2 is not required. In addition, an arc part is formed in the optical-waveguide circuit board, and an optical-waveguide circuit interconnection is drawn in such a way that the semiconductor laser amplifier 4 and input/output optical fibers 1a, 1b can be connected to the same edge of the optical-waveguide circuit board 2. Thereby, the semiconductor laser amplifier 4 can be coupled at an edge at which the input/output optical fibers 1a, 1b are coupled. Consequently, the number of edges whose optical polishing operation in the optical-waveguide circuit board 2 can be reduced to one. |
