PURPOSE: To provide an optical fiber cable which is composed of a fiber having a core and a surrounding jacket and is suitable for transmitting strong laser beam. CONSTITUTION: The optical fiber cable is composed of the fiber having a core 4 and a surrounding jacket 9. One of contact ends of the core 4 is provided with a rod 1 having a diameter larger than that of the core at least. At such an end, the fiber has a reflector 7 designed for guiding beams, which are made incident outside the fiber, to a partial area 6, the light beam are absorbed without being damaged in that partial area, and the rod 1 guides the light beams not to be linked by the fiber to the reflector 7. The transmission method of light based on the usage of the optical fiber is provided as well. |
