<p>The structure (10) is provided for direct cable (36) (see Fig. 5) to circuit board (28) connections. The structure (10) is securely mountable to the circuit board (28) by means of pegs (20) and includes a cable receiving aperture (34) extending therein and characterized by a deflectable strain relief engagement for engaging the insulation (40) on the cable (36) and providing necessary strain relief. The aperture (34) is constructed to alternatively permit first and second depths of cable insertion (seen in Figs. 6 and 7 respectively), each of which permits engagement of the strain relief structure (60, 62) with the cable. The first depth of insertion (seen in Fig. 6) substantially encloses the exposed conductors (38) of the cable to prevent damage during shipment and storage. The second depth of insertion (seen in Fig. 7) enables electrical connection between the cable conductors (38) and conductive areas on the circuit board (28).</p>
