The invention concerns a control system, in particular an electrohydraulic control system, for hoisting gear, plus an electrohydraulic control valve fitted in the control system. The control valve is designed so that, both in the neutral position in which the hydraulic fluid is held in the hoisting gear and in position B in which pressure in the consumer is released, it provides a connection between a pump and a reservoir so that the amount of fluid delivered by the pump can flow through the control valve into the reservoir. The control system has a bypass line which bypasses the control valve and which brings pressure to act at the consumer when the control valve is in position A in which the connection between the pump and the consumer is broken.
