Electric motor with radial sliding surfaces for armature shaft

The armature shaft (5) is mounted in bearings (12, 13) on both sides of an eccentric cam (14) whose rotation can give rise to distortive radial stresses. Any consequent misalignment of the free end of the shaft is minimised by a damping combination (15) of two half-shells (16a, 16b) with trapezoidal inner sliding surfaces (17). A band (19) of flexible plastic or steel surrounding the half-shells has a split (20) opposite one of the gaps between them, and is connected to a U-shaped strap (21) which lies flat on the end of the motor casing.
