Peristaltic type of hose pump

The hose pump has a sliding shoe (3). There is an antifriction foil (4) between the shoe and the hose (2). This foil may be made of fibres in the form of a woven or knitted fabric or felt, the fibres being of graphite or PTFE Alternatively, a fine perforated plastics foil can be used. It may be attached by a fixing (6) running parallel to the drive shaft (5). The shoe may be asymmetrically curved in its axial cross-section, or may be in the form of a screw. The material of which it is made conducts heat well.
