Optimal cleaning of the cloth of a centrifugal filter

Arrangement for the removal of the remains of the filter cake from the filter cloth of a centrifugal filter by a combination of a backwashing air stream supplied through nozzles (13) fitted on a manifold (12) and the scraper action of guides (20), fitted to adjustable support arm (10), which define the limits of deformation (21) of filter cloth (6) in the region of the manifold. Pref. the roughing scraper (9) moves about shaft (18). The support arm (10) swivels loosely about shaft (18) until it is brought into action by an adjustable cam (19). The circumferential speed of the drum is reduced to 3.8 m/sec during the filter cake removal cycle.
