Thin layer evaporator to separate liquid mixtures

Thin layer evaporator comprises a heating element (2) surrounding a vertical evaporator cylinder (1) on the inside of which a wiping system (3) forms a film of the mixture to be evaporated. A concentrically placed tube (13) enters the cylinder through its base and removes the vapours whilst the unvaporised components are drained off the sloping base (11) which, together with tube (13) forms a demountable unit.
