The regulation system includes an initial measuring phase, in which the device characteristics are ascertained under a variety of operating requirements or conditions. This is followed by the setting or adjusting of control signals in accordance with the characteristics obtained in the measuring phase. The equipment is then regulated according to the signal settings or adjustments so that the resulting operational characteristics of the equipment approach the relevant nominal characteristics. The control circuitry includes storage methods for the information obtained about the characteristics, which can be categorised and recorded.
