Optical compensation film increasing viewing angle of liq. crystal display

摘要

Optical compensation film comprises (a) a transparent base and (b) an optically anisotropic layer contg. a cpd. (I) with a discotic structural unit in its mol. and negative birefringence, in which the discotic unit has a plane inclined away from the plane of (a) at an angle changing in the direction of the thickness of (b). Also claimed are (1) an LCD unit and (2) a colour LCD unit.
