Discosed are organosilicon modified, water-soluble, amorphous alkali metal silicates with a bulk density of more than 450 g/l and a carbon content, due to organic groups, of 0.03 to 5 wt %, compounds thereof with other builder substances, methods of preparation and use as builder components in detergents and cleaners.
