A fire extinguishing generator is proposed with a housing, in which are arranged sequentially several components including an aerosol-producing charge, mixture or the like with associated ignition device, and a coolant device. The charge, mixture or the like has a recess aligned coaxially with the housing in which the ignition device is placed. To improve ignition of the charge, mixture or the like, it is proposed that the ignition device (14) should be provided with a tubular element (gas pipe) (34) which projects into the recess (13), is closed at its front end (16) and has on its outer mantle at a distance from the front end (16) apertures (15) for the radial ignition of the charge, mixture or the like (12). |
