<p>A cosmetic compsn. for topical use contains, in a suitable carrier, (i) 2,4,6-tris(p-(2'-ethylhexyl-1'-oxycarbonyl)anilino)-1,3,5-triazine (I), as filter; and (ii) an oil comprising an ester of formula R-(O)a-CO-(O)b-A-(O)b-CO-(O)a-R (A), R1-(OCH2CH2)c-CO-(O-CH(CH3)-CH2)d-(OCH2CH2)e</S B>-O--R2 (B) or R4-O-CO-(CH2)f-C(OH)(R5)-(CH2)g-CO-O-R4 (C) a,b = 0 or 1 but are not both 0; R = 6-12C alkyl; A = 3-12C alkyl; c, d, e = 0-30; c+d+e = at least 8; R1 = aryl or 10-18C alkyl; R2 = H or -CH2-COOR3; R3 = 3-18C alkyl; and if R1 = alkyl, then R2 = H; f, g = 0 or 1 but are not both 0; R4 = 10-22C alkyl; R5 = H or -COOR6; and R6 = 10-22C alkyl. Use of the oils to improve the light protection and/or the cosmetic properties of an anti sun cosmetic contg. (I) is also claimed.</p> |
