The collector is constructed on a chassis which carries a cylindrical brush (4), mounted so as to rotate freely around a horizontal axis. This axis is carried at the front and lower end of two carrying arms (8), which are fitted to the chassis by means of the fixed shaft. The brush rotates as it rolls along the ground, during the advancement of the frame. A rotating besom brush (5) is carried on a horizontal axis, which is located to the rear of the cylindrical brush and in contact with the ground. The besom is driven in rotation at a higher rotary speed, and in the opposite direction, than the cylindrical brush. The fruits (2) are swept up by the besom, on to the collecting belt (17). <IMAGE>
