PURPOSE:To easily and quickly segment a specific picture out of a picture by using an edge picture forming means, a means which designates a point on an edge line and a picture extracting means. CONSTITUTION:A hue picture H and a lightness picture V are extracted out of an original color RGB picture and the edge components are extracted out of those pictures H and V by a differential filter. Then an operator judges anyone of the picture H or V discriminates a subject picture more satisfactorily and selects either one. At the same time, the several dots are designated on the edge enclosing the subject picture out of said selected picture. Then a CPU2 decides the threshold value width based on the picture element information on the designated dots and then performing the binary coding processing to separate the edge picture elements included said threshold value width from others. Furthermore the CPU2 deletes the undesired isolated dots. |
