The mill housing (12) has a removable cover (14) and inside (18) contains an optionally diametered grinding disc (32). The housing interior is variably divided by multi-part inserts (70) into coaxial chambers (50,62,54) adapted to de-duster (2) and grinding disc (32,38). The de-duster is mounted on and can be removed with the cover and certain parts (74,76) of the inserts are fitted exchangeably to the cover. A number of outer chambers devoid of grinding tools are closed off by the inserts as against the tooled outer chambers (52) which have inlets (55) and outlets (58) for the ground material as well as an internal baffle lining system (36) forming part of the insert unit (70). The rotor (30) is fitted with the grinding disc (32) and a set of rim-distributed grinding tools (34), and grind feed and air guides (26) issue into the tooled chambers (52). The entry and outlet in chamber (52) connect to the inner chamber (50). A second grinding disc is introduced below the first disc but similarly tooled at the rim and of larger diameter than the main disc (32).
