Prepn. comprises: (a) mixing water and a base; (b) adding a colourant and (c) adjusting the pH of the mixt. (to 6.5-10.0) by adding polyphosphoric acid (PPA). Also claimed are the ink (I) obtd. by process; and an ink jet printing process using (I). Pref. with selective heating of (I) in an imagewise pattern. Pref. (I) opt. also contains a polyamine, and/or sulpholane in combination with N-methyl-pyrrolidone or 2-pyrrolidone. |
