System of testing a solid material by means of radiation pumping by flash bulbs. The system is based on a body 2 in which a cavity 1 is formed with its corresponding cover 3, which cavity will house two bulbs 7 that emit radiation onto a bar 8 forming the solid body being tested, which is interposed between these two bulbs 7. The bar to be tested 8 is interchangeable on being mounted on threaded end supports 11, whilst the bulbs 7 will also be mounted on mobile supports 9, the assembly having a cooling system with air inlets 13 and outlets 14, as well as grooves 12 for fitting optical filters for the bulb radiation 7. The system is designed for inspecting a solid material in the form of a bar and testing its capacity as an active laser medium or with optical properties related to this field of use. <IMAGE>
