The products run on a conveyor belt, and a cross-beam supports a labelling head and a supply reel containing a label support band. A take up reel retrieves the band after withdrawal of the labels. The supply band runs on a small diameter roller on a label unsticking plate. A retaining plate extends from the un-gluing plate, and an actuator with a piston with a foam end pad which sticks the label onto the product is located above the retaining plate. The retaining plate has two lateral guides, parallel to the band displacement, having flexible support lips on the internal edges in a material of very low coefficient of adhesion, particularly polytetrafluoroethylene.
