The window or door fitting comprises an actuation square (2) which is provided with a fixed projection (8) at its free end. The lock actuation element (4) has an axial groove (9) matching the fixed projection which is formed in the central recess (5). The projection is provided on the square surface lying opposite to the locking bolt (6). The projection is formed from a retaining insert (10) fitted in the locking bolt.
