A signboard holder has a supporting part provided on both sides with front flanges for holding a signboard. The supporting part has connection means for fastening means that hold the signboard together with the signboard holder on the device to be provided with a signboard. The signboard holder is made of a strip of material that can be deformed around an axis that extends in the direction of its width. The signboard holder is more deformable than the signboard. In an initial position of the signboard holder, the aligned fastening points between the signboard holder and the signboard are more spaced apart in the longitudinal direction than the fastening points on the signboard.
