Appts. for coiling rolled strip material, esp. hot strip, on a coiler mandrel, in which the initial turns of the coil are formed by an endless pulley guided belt partially wrapped round the coil. The belt consists of a toothed chain (6), the links (10) of which are smooth on the side pressing against the strip (5) to be coiled and have teeth engaging the guide pulleys (7a-e), which have corresponding teeth formed on the periphery and at least some of which are driven.
