The invention relates to a cord-embroidering device for an embroidering machine having a yarn dispenser which is coupled to the up-and-down movement of the sewing needle, and which possesses an eye for the cord, and having two cord guides arranged in the region of movement of the eye. A cord-embroidering device which has a small design, needs no electrical supply and feeds the cord to the embroidery material in a manner relieved of tension is characterised in that the cord guides have return stops, one return stop stopping the cord return from an embroidering foot to the yarn dispenser and another return stop stopping the cord return from the yarn dispenser to a cord store.
