The tubular handrail etc. unit holding bar (1) floor connections comprise integrated flange and dowel pin (8), the join between handrail bar (3) and bar (1) composed of dowel (8) and formed piece (24) as joined to an adapter (15) which is fixed to bar (1) and is hollowed to the rear to partly enclose the bar casing (1). Adapter and piece (25, 34) are joined by a cross bolt made up of an axially and radially split cylinder of bar (1, 3) diameter. The connecting rods of the handrail unit are fixed at right angles by dowels to give a formed piece with covered cavity and also of bar diameter. Each dowel has an axially tapered anchoring hole (9) to take a screw-in (10) clamp (11). Each dowel is also radially slotted for the clamp rib (13) and extends from an endwall (15) centrally holed for the screw (10) and stepped to support the respective unit bars.
