When said width is symmetrically corrected, the contact points (57, 58) between the uncorrected tooth flanks (60) of the pinion (51) and the tooth flanks (61) of the rack (52) on a projection of the axis (56) of the rack (52) lie in a plane parallel to the axis (55) of the pinion (51) and to the axis (56) of the rack (52).
