<p>The proposed method of producing an electrical discharge involves the creation of a voltage between an anode (2) and a cathode (3) and the initiation of an electrical discharge with the cathode spots to produce a plasma-forming substance. While this substance is maintained, the anode (2) and cathode (3) are constantly moved in relation to each other at a predetermined speed. The flow distribution of the plasma-forming substance is regulated in a zone bounded by the maximum length (1) of the electrical discharge column. The device for which protection is being sought comprises a vacuum chamber (1) in which are located an anode (2) and a cathode (3), a mechanism (4) for feeding the cathode in relation to the anode, a power source (10) and a group of electrically neutral screens (6, 7) to regulate the flow distribution of the plasma-forming substance.</p> |
