The appliance has a cover-plate (1) which is set back slightly to the left and right of the body beneath. The vertical wall of this recessed part is fitted with anchor screws (4) matched in turn by holes in the splayed legs of a U-strip (7) and releasably connected inverted rail (5) slid in from above to connect the two adjoining appliances. The thin wall flexible rail bears firmly on the recess wall when the strip is laid into place, using clamping pins etc. as releasable connection between the rail and strip. As the top plates are set back, a gap (3) necessarily forms between the two appliances to take the U-strip and fitted rail to be held releasably in place by the anchor screws.
