An intumescent seal material comprises a mixture of a particulate ceramic material containing at least 75% by weight of a non-fibrous ceramic shot; an intumescent substance; and a binder. A tubular sleeve for lining an opening in a wall or ceiling, the sleeve being of a size to permit one or more pipes to be inserted therethrough may be formed from the intumescent seal composition. The intumescent substance may be sodium silicate or exfoliating graphite. |
