PURPOSE:To control variably the characteristics of musical tones according to initial data and to allow the musical tone control which sufficiently reflects a player's will at the start of performance by changing the speed at which a pitch is changed to a desired height of tone according to the change state of the output value of a detection signal. CONSTITUTION:The speed of portament (i.e. the time until the pitch of a key after a change is attained from the pitch of the key before the change) is set according to the change rate of the intensity of a breadth (AD data) when there is a change in the key switch (KEY SW2) for pitch assignment. A portament sweep on is then executed and the key chord is sent to a sound source 4 (or the portament processing module in a microcomputer 3); thereafter, the portament data (pitch) is kept updated. The portament sweep is turned off when the pitch exceeds the desired pitch. The performance by arbitrarily changing the speed of the change from the initial pitch to the desired pitch is possible in this way. |
