When the conveyor stream changes, the fluid at least directly after the rotor outlet (9) and/or in front of the rotor inlet (8) has a speed profile which is constantly changing to avoid sudden changes in the flow of fluid. Where the pump (10) has surfaces determining an outer and inner flowline (c,d) the speed profile runs between the outer line (c) and inner line (d). The speed profile comprises at least a radial component of the flow which runs in a common plane relative to the rotational centre (1a) of the rotor (1). An energy-low zone can be produced on the outer or inner line to create an asymmetric profile. The pump rotor (1) can have apertures (15) for supplying or discharging the fluid to control the speed profile. <IMAGE> |
