Certain particulate detergent compositions, especially those containing a relatively high proportion of fine particles, can exhibit poor dispensing behaviour in front-loading automatic washing machines, and this can be exacerbated by the inclusion of silicone-based foam control granules. The problem is alleviated by the use of foam control granules in which a silicone foam control agent is carried on an absorbent starch-based carrier material.
