The outer aluminium sleeve (2) of the vacuum flask is linked to the inner steel lining (1) by a low thermal conductivity collar made of chrome-nickel steel. The collar has a U-profile with an outer flange with an aluminium ring to weld to the outer casing. The inner flange is welded to the inner casing. The collar is pressed from a sandwich material with aluminium on one side and a thin chrome-nickel steel layer on the other side. The aluminium is removed except for the welding ring. The space between the two casings is evacuated and sealed. |
