A compact device for viewing transparent films includes a housing (10) containing two linear light sources (15) on two opposite sides of said housing, each of said sources being surrounded by a mask (16) leaving only one light-diffusing opening (17) extending along the whole light emission area of the source in a plane substantially perpendicular to a reading plane (13). Anti-reflective strips (21) provided in a substantially parallel plane to the reading plane in the region of said openings reduce the strong light reflection in the proximity of said sources and ensure a moderate reflection of light on the whole of said reading plane. The anti-reflective strips (21) preferably have a predetermined width substantially equal to one fifth of the width of the reading plane (13). |
