PURPOSE: To provide an electrodeless low-pressure discharge lamp whose coating film is easily formed and coil space availability is improved. CONSTITUTION: A top surface 10 of a cylindrical cavity 4 includes a range of at least one-third of cylinder radius (r) which goes from a cylindrical wall 11 of a cavity toward a lamp axis (t). A theoretical tangential plane (s) of the top surface of this part has an angle (α) more than 90 deg. in relation to the lamp axis (t), and has a round connection part between the cavity 4 and the cylindrical wall 11.
