<p>PURPOSE:To provide a liquid crystal display device which is formed larger in size and higher in fineness without complicating data output circuitry by optimizing and decreasing parasitic capacitance. CONSTITUTION:In the liquid crystal display device, pixel electrodes for display arranged in an matrix form, scanning signal lines 4, data signal lines 5, active elements and driving circuit 2 for data signals are formed on a scanning substrate and a counter electrode 3 is formed on a counter substrate. Plural apertures 11 are formed at the counter electrode 3 in the parts corresponding to the data signal lines 5. And also the liquid crystal display device is formed out of a liquid crystal layer disposed between both substrates and a date signal line driving means for outputting data signals to the data signal lines simultaneously with sample video signals at the prescribed timing within the horizontal scanning period of the video signals to the date signal lines 5. The plural apertures 11 are thus formed at the counter electrode 3 and at least a part thereof are disposed in the parts facing the data signal lines 5 and, therefore, the parasitic capacitance on the data signal lines 5 are decreased and are optimized to meet the data output circuitry since the parasitic capacitance existing between the data signal lines 5 and the counter electrode 3 are small.</p> |
