PURPOSE: To provide a seat belt pretensioner for tensioning the looseness of a seat belt at a vehicle collision. CONSTITUTION: This seat belt pretensioner includes a rotary trochoidal motor 40 with a housing 44. The housing 44 has a wall with an inner surface defining a chamber 48, a rotor 42, an output shaft 66 and a means for rotating the output shaft by transmitting the rotation force from the rotor to the output shaft. The rotor 42 is rotatable in the chamber 48 and has fluid engagement surfaces 50, 52, 54. The output shaft 66 is supported for rotating relative to the housing. |
