PURPOSE:To measure the temperature distribution and the porosity of coke at the surface part of furnace core and the raceway part individually with high spatial resolution in the form of two--dimensional image data by a structure wherein the sound wave propagates through the peripheral tuyere part while avoiding the central region in the furnace requiring high sound pressure. CONSTITUTION:When the physical characteristics at the surface layer region 60 of furnace core and the raceway part 70 are measured, scan signals 31, 32 are delivered from a CPU 21 to a transmission side scanner 22 and a receiving side scanner 23 in order to select a sound wave generator and a sound wave receiving sensor being used for measurement. When a sound wave generator (a1) is designated, for example, ten (N) units of receiving sensors b2-b6, bM4-bM are selected. Upon receiving a transmission signal 41 from the scanner 22, the generator (a1) transmits a sound wave in the furnace and N receiving signals 42 are stored in the CPU 21 through the scanner 23 and a waveform measuring apparatus 24. Upon finishing the scanning for M tuyere, the CPU 21 configures the stored data again and displays 25 the two-dimensional distributed image of physical characteristic values. |
