PURPOSE: To improve an engine performance and reduce an emission, noise and wear by providing a fluid storage chamber and direct-operated check and starting the fluid injection by hydraulically unbalancing the check. CONSTITUTION: An injector 20 in the fuel injection system attached on an engine is provided with a housing portion 74, nozzle portion 76, electronically-operated device 78, electronically-controlled first pressure control valve 80, reciprocal fuel pressurize member 82, direct-operated check 84, first energize device 86, electronically-controlled second pressure control valve 88 and second energize device 90. The housing portion 74 is provided with a fuel control passage 92 and integral fuel storage chamber 94 and the electronically-operated means 78 is provided for controlling respective pressure control valves 80, 88. The check 84 is arranged in the bore of the nozzle portion 76 and provided selectively and movably between a first position for blocking the fluid communication between an injection chamber 102 and a fuel injection orifice 108 and a second position for opening the fluid communication. |
