<p>PURPOSE:To provide a method for suppressing the attrition of a magnesia-base refractory with a high melting speed and at lower cost, at the time of suppressing the attrition of the magnesia-base refractory in the vessel lined with the refractory. CONSTITUTION:A magnesia clinker is added so that the magnesia content of the generated sludge is 1-20% excess over the saturation solubility in the sludge to suppress the attrition of a magnesia-base refractory. The magnesia clinker consists of the periclase crystal grains having <=200mum size, a total of the contained impurities (CaO, SiO2, Al2O3, etc.) is controlled to 2-22%, and further, the grain size is adjusted above the scattered grain limit and below 80mm.</p> |
