<p>PURPOSE:To realize technique whereby a surface of a cold cathode base body can be coated with an emitter substance, without adsorbing Xe while excellent in sputter resistance with a small work function, by a method except high temperature heat treating and plasma flame spraying. CONSTITUTION:In a method of manufacturing a cold cathode 18 of DC-PDP1O, to a surface of a cold cathode base body 18a consisting of conductive material, paste, formed by mixing GdB6 (gadolinium hexaboride), BaAl2O4 (barium aluminate), organic metal (Al alkoxide or carboxylic salt) formed in metal oxide by burning and a solvent containing thinner, is applied and dried. By burning this paste heated to a decomposition temperature or more of the organic metal, an emitter layer 18b is formed.</p> |
