摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To increase heating efficiency by heating one end of a handrail body comprising a heat pipe by an electric heater and controlling the electric heater by a temperature control device so that the temperature of the handrail surface can be maintained at a specified value. CONSTITUTION:A power is supplied to a temperature control device 11, and the desired surface temperature of a handrail body 2 comprising a heat pipe is set by a temperature setting means. Next a heating means 3 such as an electric heater, etc., is heated by a control current from the control device 11, and working liquid in a liquid accumulated part located near a recessed part 7 of an enclosed pipe 4 is heated and evaporated. Also the vapor generated is moved upward and diffused in the pipe 4 so as to heat the overall pipe. Then the vapor is cooled by heat exchange, and the working liquid condensed into liquid lowers by the capillary action of a wig 5 and returns to the liquid accumulated part for re-heating and re-evaporation. In addition, when the temperature of the body 2 is raised to the set value, the control current from the control device 11 is output to the heating means 3 so that temperature can be maintained. Thus the handrail can be heated rapidly and efficiently, reduced in size, and increased in attractiveness.</p>
